Text Box: Teaching a child to “temporarily stop” - a critical safety skill. This lesson is for children that bolt or act on impulse to run to a preferred object regardless of environmental hazards. The function of bolting is to seek out a tangible item or activity, or act on some impulse. Addressing bolting with this lesson assumes that the function of the behavior is not Attention Gaining or Avoidance of a Demand.
